Turn messages into tasks
Create a task from any message. The thread comes with it, so the reason behind the work stays visible.
Height alternative
A new home for teams that loved Height
Height shut down in September 2025. Quelane keeps what Height teams valued: tasks and the conversations about them, together in one workspace.
How teams use it
Plan in cycles and projects
Group tasks into projects with cycles, milestones and target dates. Track work on boards or lists.
Talk next to the work
Channels and threads link straight to the tasks they are about. You do not need a separate chat app.
Quelane is built for small product teams who decide in chat and ship in a tracker. See how team chat works

What happened to Height
Height announced in March 2025 that it would shut down, and the service closed on September 24, 2025. No other company took over the product, so every Height team had to move its work to a new tool.
What to look for in a Height alternative
Height stood out because conversations lived next to tasks. When you compare tools, check whether chat is built in or comes from a separate app, whether a message can become a task without losing its context, and whether the tool stays simple for a small team.
Where Quelane fits
Quelane is built around the same idea: the talk about the work belongs with the work. It is in early access and focuses on small product teams. If you need a mature tool today, Linear or ClickUp may suit you better.
